Borough Green and Wrotham - The start

The Branch Launched on 10 July 2023

The meeting drew an impressive gathering, including notable figures - Cllr James Lark, Mayor of Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council, and Cllr Mike Taylor, Chairman of the Borough Green Parish Council. Also in attendance were Carole Dickenson and John Russell, key representatives from Kent Network u3a, along with Fred Lemont, Chairman of Paddock Wood u3a, along side the BGW u3a branch Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and members of the Steering Group Committee.

Local residents from Borough Green, Wrotham, Platt, St Mary Platt, and Ightham filled the room, eager to engage and voice their perspectives. The enthusiastic turnout showcased the strong community interest from all the surrounding parishes.

The Inaugural Meeting - 9 October 2023

This meeting signalled the launch of the Branch as a fully-fledged u3a. Attendees completed membership forms and eagerly explored the various groups they could join, each choosing the areas that sparked their curiosity and passion. It was an inspiring start, as residents took their steps toward lifelong learning through social interaction within this new community venture.
